Jesus encourages us to give generously to spread the gospel message and help provide for those who are in need.  Every good thing we have, or hope to have, comes from Him, our supplier. To “tithe” means to give 10% of your income.  It’s not merely giving something to God, it is giving back a portion of what He provided to you in the first place.
