Open Door Prayer Room

Prayer and worship are two essential pillars in the life of a believer. Cultivating intimacy with God through corporate worship and prayer is a primary goal of Open Door. The prayer room serves as a sacred space where we communicate with our Heavenly Father, pouring out our hopes, fears, pains, and desires before Him. It is a place of surrender, where we lay down our burdens and find refuge in His presence.

We worship in response to Christ’s goodness and faithfulness, pouring out genuine adoration and thankfulness back to Him. It is in these precious moments our souls are nourished, our minds are strengthened, and our hearts are ignited with love for God. Therefore, Open Door will continue to seek the throne room of grace, engaging in corporate prayer and worship, for it is where we encounter God and are forever transformed.

“I can safely say, on the authority of all that is revealed in the Word of God, that any man or woman on this earth who is bored and turned off by worship is not ready for heaven.”
— A. W. Tozer

We desire that prayer would be ignited in the hearts of every believer. We endeavor to facilitate this through encountering the love and presence of God in worship and partnering with Jesus Christ the Great Intercessor. Our weekly prayer and worship times are the heartbeat of who we are.

The Prayer Room is open to everyone who wants to participate. While in the Prayer Room, feel free to join in with corporate worship and prayer, read your Bible, study the Word, write in your journal, or engage in personal prayer. You’re free to sit, stand, or pace the aisles.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”
— Romans 12:1

The 3 basic formats we use are Corporate Intercession, Devotional Worship, and Worship with the Word:

Corporate Intercession lasts for 2 hours. Each hour starts with worship led by one of our worship teams for about 30 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of strategic intercession led by a prayer leader. There are opportunities for everyone to participate.

Devotional Worship can be 1/2 hour to 2 hours long. During this set, one or more musicians lead a time of “gazing on the beauty of the Lord” (Psalm 27:4). The atmosphere is relaxed and contemplative.

Worship with the Word is another format we use. During this time, everyone joins in corporate worship and also engages in times of Bible reading by a prayer leader, followed by singing the passages that have been read.
